Community guidelines
One set of rules, for every species and every kind of keeper. Each one maps to something the app or a reviewer can actually do — there are no rules here that nobody can enforce.
Every species gets the same standard
Dogs and cats do not get a better product here than rabbits, birds, reptiles, fish or anything else people keep, and they do not get a worse one either. Nothing on Scrlpets treats an animal as less of an animal because of its species or breed.
Describe the animal honestly
Species, age, what is known about health and history, and what a buyer or adopter is actually getting. Misrepresenting an animal is grounds for the listing to be hidden and the account suspended.
Do not list an animal too young to leave
Where a dog's or cat's birth date is recorded and puts the animal under eight weeks old, or where a weaning date is still in the future, the app refuses the listing outright. An unrecorded date is treated as unknown rather than as proof of anything — but offering an underage or unweaned animal breaks this rule whether or not the app can see it.
No cruelty, no unlawful sales
Do not promote cruelty or neglect, and do not use Scrlpets to work around the breeding, sale or transport requirements that apply where you are. Content and accounts can be removed for this.
Be decent to people
No harassment, no bullying, no pile-ons, and no impersonating another person or organisation. Disagreeing about how an animal should be kept is fine; going after the person is not.
No spam and no scams
No fraudulent listings, no scam attempts, and no flooding the app with the same content. If something reads like a scam, report it — that reason is in the report menu.
Post what is yours
Photos and video of animals you actually keep or bred, or content you hold the right to publish. You keep ownership of what you post; publishing it gives Scrlpets permission to host and display it so the app can work.
Accounts are for adults
You must be at least 18 to hold a Scrlpets account, to publish, or to take part in the marketplace. Browsing public content does not require an account.
Money happens off Scrlpets — be careful
Scrlpets does not process payments, hold funds, or refund them. If you send money to someone you met here, that is between the two of you and Scrlpets cannot reverse it. Keeping the conversation in Scrlpets messages at least leaves a record of what was agreed.
How this is enforced
Enforcement starts with a report. A person reviews it and can dismiss it, hide the reported content, or suspend the account, and every action taken is recorded against that report.
In practice that means nothing is scanned automatically and nobody is watching a live feed. Things get looked at because somebody reported them. If you see something wrong, report it — that is the mechanism.
