Questions and straight answers

Everything below describes what Scrlpets does today, not what it is going to do. Where a thing is not built yet, this page says so.

What is Scrlpets?

A place to follow animals and the people who raise and keep them, and to browse animals offered for sale or adoption. It is built for every species kept as a pet — dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, reptiles, fish and more — and the app uses each family's own vocabulary instead of forcing one animal's words onto another.

Do I need an account?

Not to look. Public profiles, animals, posts, listings and guides are readable without signing in. You need an account to publish anything, to send a message, or to ask a seller about a listing.

Can I buy an animal on Scrlpets right now?

No. Scrlpets does not process payments, and every money path is switched off in the database rather than merely hidden in the interface. You can ask a seller about a listing, and the conversation keeps that listing's details attached — but anything you agree after that happens between the two of you, off Scrlpets.

Are people on Scrlpets identity-verified?

Not yet. Identity checks are built to run through Stripe Identity and are not switched on. When they are, Stripe holds the documents and Scrlpets stores only whether the check passed. Until then, treat every account as unverified.

What does a reviewed credential mean?

Someone can submit a kennel licence, business registration, rescue or shelter registration, USDA licence, or breed club membership as a number and an issuing authority. No documents are uploaded. A person checks it against public records and approves or rejects it. That means a credential checked out — it does not mean Scrlpets visited anyone, inspected a facility, or met an animal.

Are the animals health-checked?

No. Scrlpets does not examine, test or health-check any animal, and does not employ a vet. Health entries and reminders in the app are recorded by the animal's own keeper. They are that person's records, not a Scrlpets verification of anything.

Someone is behaving badly. What can I do?

Report the post, comment, listing or profile. Reports go to a queue a person works through, and they can dismiss the report, hide the content, or suspend the account. You can also block someone: a block hides them from your feed and your messages and severs follows in both directions. Their profile page stays visible for now — hiding a blocked person's content everywhere has not been built yet.

Can I get my data out, or delete my account?

You can download everything you have published as a JSON file from Account settings. Deletion is a request rather than a button: it is reviewed before it completes.

How quickly will support reply?

There is no honest answer to that yet, so there is no promise. Tickets go into a queue that a person moves through open, in progress and resolved. If you have not heard back, sending the same reference again is fine.

Who can see my email address?

Not the public. Email addresses are not shown on profiles and are kept out of the sitemap. A support ticket stores the address you gave it, and only you and platform admins can read that ticket.
